History of Our Clinic
Rowan Internal Medicine had its beginnings in October 1970, with the collaboration of two certified Internal Medicine physicians serving North Spokane and neighboring communities.
Anya Consiglio -Dr. Consiglio was born in Los Angeles, California. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Southern California and completed medical residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Prior to joining Rowan Internal Medicine in 2007, she was in private practice in Santa Barbara, California. Her practice includes general internal medicine, and she also has a special interest in women’s health. She is married with one son.
Amy Echelberger –Dr. Echelberger obtained her M.D. Degree from Southern Illinois University and completed her residency at Wayne State School of Medicine and Pediatrics. Prior to joining Rowan Internal Medicine she was a hospitalist and in private practice in Chicago, IL.
Sean Hurley –Dr. Hurley has been practicing medicine in Spokane since 1996. His practice caters to a diverse group of adult medical patients including, but not limited to, patients with chronic pulmonary, cardiac, digestive, rheumatological, endocrine and orthopedic conditions. Dr. Hurley also participates in clinical research. He is married with 2 children and when possible enjoys the numerous recreational activities available in the beautiful Inland Northwest. Dr. Hurley is Board Certified through The American Board of Internal Medicine.
Jerry Lochner – Dr. Lochner was born in Oklahoma. He worked for a few years as an electrical and then a nuclear engineer at Sandia National Laboratories. He returned to school and received his M.D. Degree from the University of New Mexico. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency program at the University of Oklahoma. Since then he has practiced here in Spokane. He is married and has five children.
Keith Morton – Dr. Morton moved to Spokane, WA in July 2002, and joined Rowan Internal Medicine at that time. In preparation for medical school, he completed a B.S. in chemistry and engineering at the University of Redlands in 1995. He matriculated from Loma Linda University with a medical degree in 1999. He then completed his internship/residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Virginia (now Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine) in 2002. He is board certified in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine. While practicing at Rowan Internal Medicine, Dr. Morton provided in-patient care at Holy Family Hospital from 2002-2014. Currently, he has an out-patient internal medicine practice.
Ron Ortiz –Dr. Ortiz graduated from the University of California San Diego Medical School in 1984. He completed specialty training in Internal Medicine at University of Texas Southwest in Dallas in June 1987. He was board certified later that year in Internal Medicine. Prior to leaving his native California, he worked with Sharp Rees Stealy Medical Group in San Diego County. He first came to the Northwest working for Providence Physician Group from February 2003 until June 2005. He joined the doctors of Rowan Internal Medicine in July 2005. He is married with one adult son and a teenage daughter. Dr. Ortiz is American Board of Internal Medicine board certified.
Daniel Yang –Dr. Yang was born in Taiwan (fluent in Chinese-Mandarin), and grew up in North America. He obtained his M.D. Degree and Internal Medicine training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Prior to joining Rowan Internal Medicine in 2004, he was a primary care provider for the Milwaukee VA and a clinical instructor for the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Yang is devoted to medical education and is a clinical instructor for University of Washington’s Medical School. He is married with 3 children. Dr. Yang is American Board of Internal Medicine board certified.
Kurt Fullmer –Kurt, a physician assistant with 30 years of experience, provides urgent care for acute and chronic problems and works in connection with the patient’s doctor. He has a master’s degree with specialization in Internal medicine from University of Nebraska Medical Center, obtained mini-fellowship in Geriatrics, and is certified by NCCPA. Kurt is married with 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
